Feed the future generation
Nearly 70% of the poor people in Uganda live in rural areas and many of them are subsistence farmers. Growth in the agricultural sector is mandatory, that’s why GRONET has found ways to at least reduce the prevalence of poverty and scale up a comprehensive approach to fight hunger and strengthen food security.
"We develop a common strategy and language of activism in addressing issues on environmental protection and food security."
Investing in smallholder farmers is more crucial and important than ever. In order to feed this increasing population in the near future, GRONET focuses on addressing the root cause of food insecurity through agricultural development so as to combat hunger, malnutrition and poverty in Uganda by:
- Developing agricultural markets, expanding trade and using our networks to help farmers to sell what they grow at a profit.
- We help farmers to access capital so that they improve and expand their farms.
- We teach farmers on how to grow and store their crops.
- Through our research team, we develop new agricultural strategies so that people can be able to feed their families and also
save something for later needs.
