"In Uganda, its existing economic model is unsustainable for the environment and the society since quality employment and environmental protection are not incompatible and we have to deliver them both". It's observed that there is a rise in the average temperature of Uganda's climate system and it's related effects (rising in sea level, heavy rain fall with floods leading to land erosion, heat waves, drought and high global temperatures) which will increase intensity over the coming years. This is due to the influence of Ugandans with their poor methods of farming, land reclamation, industrialization and deforestation which are brought up by lack of education about climate change, rapid pace of urbanization and poverty. Climate change is a threat to food security due to a decrease in crop yields as a result of unfavorable weather conditions.

GRONET moves towards an economic model that promotes global sustainable development, while at the same time guaranteeing a just transition for workers whose jobs are affected through social protection, skills training and trade union involvement in decision making. We deal with changes in the climate and the risks they entail, while promoting adaptation to changes in infrastructural needs and emission reduction hence we emphasize a sustainable investment strategy to support the decarbonisation of industries and the economy as well as a strategy to enhance community resilience to the impact of climate change.
