Credit Schemes

Credit schemes are financial tools offered by banks, financial institutions, and government agencies to provide individuals and businesses with access to funds for various purposes. These schemes aim to stimulate economic growth, support entrepreneurship, promote financial inclusion, and meet the diverse credit needs of borrowers.

Why we Care!

The present financial institutions, have not put in place friendly borrowing terms that can generate development on the interest rate are very high, unbearable to the marginalized poor both rural/urban communities. Many who have attempted to borrow money from the bank and other financial institutions like micro finance institutions have ended up losing their properties thus sending them to severe property which has costed peoples’ lives and scattering of families. Understanding the types, benefits, challenges, and best practices for their utilization empowers borrowers to leverage credit effectively, achieve financial goals and enhance overall financial well-being. Accessing finance is often challenging for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), especially when compared to larger firms.

SMEs encounter difficulties due to high administrative costs associated with small-scale lending, underdeveloped financial systems, and the perception of higher risk attributed to smaller enterprises. Information asymmetry is a significant hurdle for commercial banks when lending to SMEs. SMEs often lack appropriate accounting records and collateral, making it challenging to assess their creditworthiness.
Improper utilization of credit funds, defaults on repayments, or mismanagement of borrowed funds has lead to financial distress, debt burdens, and credit score deterioration for many borrowers as many of the individuals, groups and businesses lack financial strategy to manage financial risks, overcome temporary cash flow challenges, and seizing growth opportunities.
