Public Welfare

Public welfare, in our context, means the stewardship of natural environments and of human communities in order to enhance social, economic, psychological, cultural and physical functioning for now and in the future. This also empathizes the aspect of social welfare which is intended to ensure that members of a society can meet basic human needs such as food, shelter, clothing, medical, etc.
It encompasses a range of social services, benefits, and support systems designed to promote the welfare and prosperity of all members of society. Public welfare initiatives play a crucial role in addressing social inequalities, enhancing human development, and ensuring a more inclusive and equitable society.

Why we Care!

The public we serve is increasingly vocal about public welfare issues and is showing us what succeeds and fails. They are demanding changes to improve quality of life. Poverty, unemployment, unequal opportunity, racism, tribalism, malnutrition, substandard housing, employment discrimination, child abuse and neglect, crime and substance abuse are the welfare problems which Ugandans face. Not only these problems affect many people directly, but they also affect all of us indirectly. The drug-abusing driver becomes the potential traffic accident that doesn’t choose its victims by race, color, or creed but does so randomly. The child of abusive parents all too often becomes the victim or perpetrator of family violence as an adult. These problems tend to develop when we become neglectful but they can be prevented if our social institutions are working well?

Our Commitments

For over five years, GRONET has supported efforts to advance justice and opportunity for people in need. Today, our efforts focus on catalyzing a transformative approach to justice that is community-led, restorative, and racially just through investments in criminal justice and youth social justice reforms. Our Work is dedicated to improving practice and advancing knowledge in social work and social welfare. We intend to yield new insights into established practices, evaluate new techniques and research, examine current social problems, and bring serious critical analysis to bear on problems in the profession. Major emphasis is placed on social policy and the solutions to serious human problems.
By working with communities to drive transformation from different angles including policy advocacy, organizing, leaderships, and development and demonstration projects. Our social welfare programs intend to cover a variety of government programs designed to protect citizens from economic risks and insecurities of life.

Ugandan Children

Child Care Support.

Over 3 million children and adolescents in Uganda grow up in families struggling to survive on less than $1 a day. But no dollar measurement can convey the hardships of children who are mostly malnourished, whose water is unsafe to drink, who miss school and grow up without ever visiting the inside of a health facility.
Please Donate to support these Children
